Sunny Beach

Sunny Beach is the largest Bulgarian resort (over 200 hotels), located in the southern part of the Bulgarian Black Sea Riviera in the Municipality of Nesebar.

The resort is situated in a gulf in the form of a crescent, facing east. The northern part is bordered by the town of Sveti Vlas. The southern part reaches the ancient town of Nessebar, which is located on a peninsula.

Sunny beach The climate is maritime - mild winters and dry, hot summers, characterized by 1700 hours of sunshine from May to October. Refreshing mountain air from the nearby slopes of the Balkan Mountains and the sea breeze bring freshness into the dry and hot days and make the nights nice and cool.

Sunny Beach is one of the few places along the Black Sea coast where one can still see natural sand dunes, and where there are over 16 species of rare plants. The beach resort consists of fine, yellow-gold sand, the seabed has a very slight slope and is suitable for bathing.



Sunny Beach has been awarded with the prestigious "Blue Flag" prize for preserved ecological environment. It is the first Bulgarian resort that has received this Eco-Prize. The National Establishment Conference of the Bulgarian movement "Blue Flag" was held in a bar - night club on June 25, 1993.







History

The construction of the resort began in 1958. More than half a century ago - on June 8, 1959 - was registered the first foreign tourist in the complex - Frantisek Sylvester from the Czechoslovak city of Ostrava. The vacationer stayed at "Kalina" hotel, and his name remained forever recorded in the annals of the resort.


Tourism
Sunny Beach is the fastest growing resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The beds of the hotel amount to more than 300,000.The variety of accommodation and food is amazing - from a small, cozy and comfortable hotels to luxury hotels, with well maintained parks and pools with mini aqua parks, restaurants and shops, from small pubs with live music to sophisticated, chic restaurants, trendy bars and discotheques, where festivities continue until dawn.


Zábava na pláži Within the resort there is a park that offers many opportunities for sports and entertainment: horseback riding, bowling, indoor and outdoor pools, mini-golf, surfing, water skiing, sailing, tennis clubs. The Streets in the complex were converted into pedestrian zones throughout the season. Tourists can take a ride with the tourist train, rickshaws or romantic horse-drawn carriages. In the resort you will find many shops from which to buy souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, food and everything you need.
